roses from Jo's garden
I'm back up to speed again and today I'm able to get back to my blog .... ahh!
The vegetable garden is growing out of control lately. What with the rain one day then some beautiful warm sunny days in succession, it grows in leaps and bounds.
fresh from the garden
The other day, I decided to pull some of my excess cucumber plants out as they were choking up other plants and taking too much room. I didn't think that they were worth worrying about as we have a little 'false lady bug' eating all the leaves and they were looking rather bedraggled
Lo and behold ...when I pulled them out, I found a few huge cucumbers. So I did get something out of them after all!
I'm still getting lots of beans, peas, strawberries and way too many baby squash. I think I'll go and donate some to one of the nursing homes tomorrow while I'm in town. Soon I'll be eating my own carrots and new tomatoes ....How about that? The first time I've ever been able to grow some!
I've been getting in a few walks lately.... good for the soul. This picture was taken at a park in town after I'd been to the hairdresser to get all my hair cut off ..... very short. I love it, so easy to look after and I only need a droplet of shampoo to give it a wash. Lovely and cool too at this time of year.
It's very windy here at the moment. The one thing I absolutely dislike is wind! I can take days of rain or the heat or even a breeze, but I just cannot like the wind!
Yesterday I mowed the grass then cleaned the garage out. There's going to be plenty for charity when I finish the other shed, let alone inside the house when I get around to that! All the 'stuff' I've accumulated over the years, is being sorted out in the next few weeks. Getting there!
I wanted to go outside and do some 'lopping' of large shrubs today, but the wind has put me off. It also looks like we'll have some rain later.
I think I'll start on some sorting indoors now. Maa

Glad the weather has improved.

Your harvest looks just lovely! I'm just starting to do my winter garden tidy up here, no worries about heat at this time of year, although it is unseasonally warm at present. By that I mean 11 instead of 1!!
And I'm with you, I just HATE wind!
Gill, I just take each day as it comes now and don't feel at all guilty if I spend a day doing nothing either.
Anne, I've just been over to vist you and help in the garden.

oooooh...lovely berries.... I'd be tossing them into some scones knowing me....
All the vegies look great. I wish I had more room and sun in the backyard to plant more vegies. Take care Maa.
I love when you pull a plant and there is surprise food on it. Do we get a look at the new hair do
Your harvest looks great! I hate wind too! And I desperately need to clear things out here too. When you're done come give me a hand ;-)
Hello there
Like Angela I'd love a look at the new hair do - thinking of doing the same to mine but still humming and hahhing about it
My tomatoes are just about finished - some of the plants developed a funny thing (maybe a virus) they had strange shapes and were really hard. Had to tear them up last week, others are still ripening but like you it ws good to grow them this year.
Take care
Cathy
I am jealous of all the stuff from your garden! I do have a passion for those little squash!
You seem to be getting so much done! Nah, I can't stand trying to something in the wind either.
Vee, usually they don't even make it into the kitchen! I've eaten them as soon as I pick them.
Karen, it has taken too long to get this vege garden in but I'm so pleased to have something finally growing.
Angela and Cathy, I take a terrible picture si I'll have to think about that one. Cathy, I highly recomment having your hair short. I'm sure you won't regeret it.
Lea, I'd love to give you a hand. Shall we be 'ruthless' while we're at it? Maybe some day I'll get that way to visit.
Sharon, I wish I could send a whole box to you ...I'm giving them away now as I just have too many.

Good morning Sue,
I love the look of your blog...I'm sorry I haven't been here in ages...missed about 3 or 4 posts.
I saw Slither in the one...wow...he's a biggie isn't he?
Glad to see you are feeling so good and that life is still fun and exciting for you.
Wonderful looking produce from your garden!
Karen
